Trailing of the Sheep

Hailey, Idaho

Each year, in the Hailey-Ketchum-Sun Valley area of Idaho, the Trailing of the Sheep Festival celebrates the return of the sheep from a summer of grazing in the high country, to the protection and safety of their winter pastures. And in doing so, the festival celebrates the traditions that have developed in the 150-year history of the sheep industry in Idaho.  Click here to see the colorful Festival web site.

Note: this day trip is scheduled for a Sunday because it is the only day they herd the sheep through Hailey.
